Ripple Custody and DALP: What it means for institutions

Institutions issue, service and redeem digital assets on the Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP), while signing authority and keys stay with the custodian.

DALP is increasingly recognized as the market standard for digital asset lifecycle management, and is now the platform Ripple has chosen to sit alongside Ripple Custody.

The banks, market infrastructures, and asset managers I speak with are looking for a path from first issuance through corporate actions and exception handling, with evidence they can defend.

The combination provides exactly that: the institution issues, services, and redeems on DALP, while signing authority and key material stay with the custodian it has already approved.

I have recorded a short video on the announcement and what it means for institutions now running digital assets to the same operational standards as their broader financial operations:

For institutions that already use Ripple Custody, DALP now adds lifecycle management on top of the custody they have already approved. If you'd like to explore DALP with Ripple Custody for your own digital asset program, our team can walk you through it.
